This competition sought to develop a place where pop music could be celebrated on the iconic level that it exists within Taiwanese society. The multiple programmatic hubs that exist within the masterplan cater to many experiences within the pop music industry. From the commercial hub, to the recording room, to the grand stages this project sought to elevate and represent popular music in the physical form.

The design has undergone several iterations from concept plans and renderings to the current design that is now being finalized in construction. While many of the design elements have changed or morphed to fit client needs the basic program and conceptual layout have remained. This project is a good example of how collaboration, time and patience generate a finalized product that is responsive to the city as well as the original program. Pop music finally has a home in Taipei Taiwan.
